Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Rain and Rivers jewelry different?

The collection approaches jewelry as wearable sculpture, combining contemporary design with the organic forms of water and stone. Every piece is hand-sculpted at the flame in Barcelona by artist Magdalena Hart, whose practice explores the intersection of nature and technology. Rather than following trends, each ring or earring is a small work of art, and no two are alike.

Who makes Rain and Rivers?

Magdalena Hart, a British-Uruguayan contemporary artist based in Barcelona, currently in residency at Difusions and represented by Adorno (Milan) and Apoc (London). She founded Rain and Rivers in 2023, after years of working with glass in her interactive installations with plants.

Who is Rain and Rivers for?

For anyone drawn to wearing art. The pieces are especially loved by people who move between fashion and contemporary art and design, and are often styled alongside designers such as Rick Owens, Balenciaga, Dilara Findikoglu and Vetements.

Is glass jewelry durable enough to wear every day?

Yes. Rain and Rivers is made from borosilicate glass, which is far more resistant to impact and temperature changes than ordinary glass. It is suited to daily wear; simply avoid hard knocks and high-impact activities.

What is borosilicate glass?

A high-quality glass containing boron, the same family used for laboratory instruments and fine kitchenware. It is strong, heat-resistant and exceptionally clear.

Is every piece unique?

Yes. Each piece is shaped by hand over the flame, so its final form varies slightly. The piece you receive exists only once.

How do I find my ring size?

Use our online ring sizer: place a ring you already own on your screen and it tells you your size. Or measure a ring that fits, or your finger, with the ring size guide. Sizes run from XS to XXL, 48 to 63 mm, and each size covers a small range because glass and fingers shift slightly with warmth. Glass does not stretch, so choose the larger size if you are between two.

How long until I receive my order?

Most pieces are made to measure. Orders ship within approximately two days, plus delivery time to your country.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, shipping is free worldwide on all jewelry and objects.

What if my piece breaks?

Repairs are free of charge; you cover shipping both ways. See caring for glass jewelry.

Can I return a piece?

Yes, within 14 days of receiving it. Please contact us first. See shipping and returns.

Where can I see the pieces in person?

At our stockists in Barcelona, Berlin, Paris and Mexico City, or at the studio at Difusions, Las Ramblas 130, Barcelona, Monday to Friday by appointment. Book a studio visit. See also stockists and press.
